Your story is yours. This page explains — plainly, without the legalese fog — what Sand-Vine Contractors collects when you visit us or work with us, why we collect it, and how you stay in control of it.
Sand-Vine Contractors is a visual design studio based in Lagos, Nigeria. We design brand identities, websites, print work, motion graphics and illustration, and we run the Sand-Vine Design Academy. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “the studio” mean Sand-Vine Contractors.
For anything you send us through this website, we are the data controller — the party that decides what is collected and what happens to it.
We keep this deliberately small. We only ask for what a project actually needs.
We never collect payment card details on this website. Invoices are handled directly through your bank or a payment provider, and their systems — not ours — hold those details.
Our lawful bases are your consent (for enquiries and updates), the performance of a contract (for commissioned work and enrolled classes), our legitimate interests in running and improving the studio, and legal obligation where record-keeping is required.
This site is intentionally light. We use a small amount of browser storage to remember display preferences, and we may use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views in aggregate. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share behavioural data with advertising networks.
You can clear or block browser storage at any time in your browser settings. The site will still work — it simply will not remember your preferences.
Some fonts and assets are loaded from third-party content delivery networks. Those providers may log the request in line with their own privacy policies.
We use reputable providers with encryption in transit, keep access limited to the people who need it, and require confidentiality from every collaborator who touches a project. Devices used by the studio are password-protected and encrypted.
No system on the internet is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your personal data in a way that poses a real risk to you, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission without undue delay.
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 — and comparable laws elsewhere — you may:
Email admin@sandvinecontractors.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We respond within 30 days, and there is no charge for a reasonable request.
If you apply to or enrol in a monthly cohort or a one-off masterclass, we additionally process your application answers, attendance, submitted coursework and certificate records.
Live classes may be recorded so enrolled students can revisit lessons. If you prefer not to appear in a recording, keep your camera off and let us know — we will exclude you from any clip used for promotion. Coursework is never published without your written consent.
We are proud of the work, and we like to show it. Unless your agreement says otherwise, we may display completed work in our portfolio, on social media and in proposals, once it has publicly launched.
Confidential briefs, unreleased campaigns and anything covered by an NDA stay private. If you would rather we did not feature your project at all, tell us — we will remove it, no questions asked.
This website and the Design Academy are intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
As the studio grows, this policy may change. The “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will say so directly rather than quietly editing the page.
